Also try using complex IOR, AO, distance shader, slight roughness... anything basically to add naturalistic imperfections in materials.
BTW, Chrome is quite dark IRL.

Yes, it seems like "CRN Bitmap" has improper 'orientation'. Native one is fine.
Tested w/ Version • 13 (Daily Build Jul 18 2024) • C4D 2024.4.1 • ms W10

I'd imagine that randomly rotating normal maps in 3D space would've had such an effect.

Nope, ain't no such thing present in C4D.
But there's workaround posted in "2 sided material c4d front back material tag vs layered material normal map mask"

It'd be nice to consider this as feature request, since it appears to be native to Corona in Max (e.g. "Easy double sided decals...")

latest two releases, i noticed the same - rendering does indeed refreshes, but does not sync/update to changes, restart is a must

Strange, some things sync and some don't - noticed after further usage.
Didn't find any 'pattern' yet...

Latest v12 RC1 lost sync abilities - restarting render became a must.

Also, agreeing on new VFB UI/UX - there's basically no progress, still too static and cumbersome to use (mind you again, we're not Max users ;)

Ah, older C4D on macs...

R 2024.4 on W10 here.

No such issues here. Camera works in sync both ways and Cosmos asset textures are just fine.

What specifically seems to be off? Care to describe steps to reproduce and post your specs...

Hi Salvatore,
no matter, if under NDA or for any other case, it's always best to create a simple exemplary scene containing only what's necessary to expose the bug. Also, in such case everyone willing can test and offer opinion/expertise.
