or just use height 25m ( to solve the grey line in very very first image), for me that solves the grey line you get with 0m altitude.

overall if you need a custom sky solution (the build in never can give all possible solutions) why not use a bitmap image as BG.
this works great, i also use that here and there a,d you can perfectly fine tume it to your needs?
Nope, can't be done w/o tinting & otherwise fine tuning.
Why I requested for more direct control - "Sun & Sky Color tinting"

yes, here's another phenomena, sort of reversed micro-roughness - as you can observe IRL and photographs, fresnel on horizon isn't present, while in shorter distance reflection from water surface is stronger (appears normal), my thinking is, because farther from coast surface gets rougher, more dispersed, w/ higher waves culminate to matte/diffuse appearance  overrides smooth surface fresnel ...

Heating from welding causes metals to oxidize, which consequently creates a layer of thin film.

Make Legacy Metal and apply it as texture.

Note: Different coloration means different thickness, some variation and specific IOR...

More segments lights have, more noise is produced, more energy it takes to simulate physically correct light transport and less rays are sampled in same amount of time.
(see attached example w/ Corona For C4D v9daily)

Any improvement is always welcome :)
In this regard, have you done any experimenting or research with physics-based differentiable rendering?

Also, you can make Volume box just where rays travel.
But note that caustic rays don't show behind glass. Which is what you're trying to achieve. (use thin glass or better, none at all, only textured spot/area light).

few things:
- needs higher sample level/count
- DOF used, but object is out of focus
- in Opacity channel check & see, if Clip helps
- bad alpha map...


if nothing helps, it's best to provide a testscene
