Hi TomG, thanks for the Feature update on Youtube! Nice to see multiple Lightmix has been added!

I am just looking into intergrating Vantage now that it is available and have started the trial.

 I see there is a live link feature in 3dsmax videos online, is this currently available in the corona 12 release for c4d or is live link coming at a later date?

 The only help guide i see online is to do with Vray for c4d. I've dropped that link below.

Hello,

This is a feature i have seen people asking for, for a good few years now however it doesn't seem to be available.

Currently c4d users are able to save out exr files when using the render queue, however cxr isn't an option. i feel like we are missing out on a powerful option with regards to the corona image editor being able to use lightmix with these types of files.

Although we can save cxr's for this use from the vfb, when queueing and rendering multiple images each evening this isn't an option. I see this was last mentioned in 2022 as something that has been noted by the devs, just wondering if you guys have any further input on if developments have been made for this feature.

if you select these edges within the face of the model, and use the MN shortkey to remove MN shortcut or UZ Shortcut, to remove them this should clear it up. Also reduce the phong tag to like 10 Degrees

Hi, Thanks, i've just tested this after work, it's actually just to do with our default scene setup. The issue seems to be to do with Null saved in the default scene (I.e what i am calling a legacy Null). I think i will just need to do an update to our start scene. Just sending this so you don't need to investigate further! plus anyone else who may have this issue.

Edge Trimming only works when a corona scatter is not placed within a null.

 Once you make it a child of a null, edge trimming doesn't work. This seems to be the case in R25, not tested other c4d's as this is the most stable for me.

Lightmix is pretty powerful when it comes to easily adjusting look and feel, However i find that when you have multiple cameras in a scene, it can be frustrating having to save out various files with various lightmix configs turned on for each file.

You may a different lighting of a space, in c4d the use of the take manager allows for multiple camera setups however, currently only one lightmix config can be active per file. It would be good to either allow the multipass to save a variety of lightmix passes for each camera, or in settings allow for a lightmix config to be selected per camera.

I am not familiar with any Max > C4D exporter or anything similar, so the only idea I have is downloading trial version of Max, opening the materials, and simply copy-pasting the values to C4D. Not very convenient, but should work...

Maru, would you know anything about this?

Hey Romullus, did the team get anywhere with this, I'm currently using 3dtoall, but its basically a fbx export. It would be interesting to see max files being able to open in c4d or some sort of importer. We waste so much time buying models that then need retexturing.

I'm looking for some information on what each of the statistics in the corona VFB mean:

i.e. the following



What each of them means and what can be improved on a scene level to decrease render times.

More just out of interest as this info is available to us but i can't find any info on their meanings.

Also if you want to add it to another material in c4d. If you want to add it to another material you could probably do it as flat mapping for most things regarding opacity. then move it into position. This is done by adding the opacity material tag to the right of the other material tag in the object manager, i think you have to check add material on both the material tags.

Tokens is exactly what i am after! however seems like cineversity doesn't like perpetual c4d licenses, seems strange if they only let you download if you have a subscription! I've contacted them, hopefully they will give me CV Tokens to install.

Takes is pretty good as well, not really what i am after but could be useful in the future for other things. thanks for the heads up
