Hello,

We are working on a large scene. At some point parsing times and GI calculation time became very very long.
I started testing the scene to find a problematic geometry.

I have a good scene structure, where I have separete layers for Project Geometry, separate layers for greenary, for entaurage detailing etc.
So here is the thing, when I start render with all renders visible at once, render doesn't start. It either get stuck forever at parsing/GI or crash, or run out of RAM.
BUT, if I open one layer and render, then I open one more and render, then one more and so on, opening them one by one and finally reach the state where all the renders are open and visible, it renders fine, parsing times and GI become normal, RAM usage becomes as expected (as it was before this problem started).

Can anyone explaine how this opening one by one solves the problem? Would be happy to hear any suggestions.

[Max] I need help! / [solved] propagate masks problem
« on: 2021-05-06, 19:17:25 »
Hello,

We have a scene created with Corona 5. When we opened it with Corona 6 all materials propagate mask option turned to Always.
This is a big big problem because there are hundreds of materials and there is no way we can go through all turning them back to Never manually.

Is there a way to batch convert this setting from Always to Never?
Because non of the masks renders properly, they are either invisible or in some very weird shape.

Hello,

I have a small request, which could be very useful when working on isolated objects in the scene and running IR.

I want to see the light from the CoronaSun when I isolate an object and not manually select the sun to isolate it with the object. This is useful to quickly isolate the object and work on its material and still see the sunlight effect.

I know there is an option to render hidden lights, but I don't want to see all the lights.

If there is already an option for this, please pinpoint it for me:)

Hello!

I know previously there were many similar topics, but I decided to open a fresh one again.
I am learning animation in Corona and testing on the scene from an older project (I did only static images for this project before).
So here is what I spotted:

First frame:
Scene parsing: 39 sec
Geometry: 10 sec

150th frame:
Scene parsing: 76 sec
Geometry: 53 sec

Scene is exactly same, only camera movement is rendered.

Computer specs:
Threadripper 3970X
128 gb ram
1080 ti

Software:
Win10Pro
Max 2020
Corona 6 (final release)

Scene complexity is medium. It has some forest pack scatters. I attach a screenshot of the scene and statics. If needed I am ready to provide a scene archive too.

So what is the reason behind the increasing times of these two phases?

Hello,

I'd like to share with you the free time project done for the portfolio, based on real project Deer's HQ by HnSa Architects.
I used latest Corona 6 daily build, 3ds Max, GrowFX, Forest Pack, and of course Photoshop.
I hope you like it!

More images and animation is here:

Hi friends,

This is one of my latest projects. It was done in relatively tight timelines but came out effective enough. What do you think?

Hello,

I upgrade to corona 4, and the scenes that were rendering fine in corona 3 started crashing during interactive render. If I tried to start regular render, an unknown error pops up, saying that it is unable to render.

After digging into the scene, I found out that the objects with materials having corona distance cause these. When I hide these objects, it renders. I tested this on a bunch of scenes, the same situation - if there is a material with corona distance, it crashes on IR or gives error on render. Also just trying to change any setting in corona distance node can eventually crash the scene too. Any of these don't happen with fresh corona distance node created with corona 4.

Could you check if this is a general bug or is it just me? I can post a problematic part form the scene to reproduce this problem.

Hi,

After stopping interactive viewport, the scene gets stuck for a while, it differs from 10 seconds to several minutes. Sometimes it doesn't happen randomly. I faced this problem in several scenes and usually, it starts to happen as the scene gets heavier, but not necessarily very heavy. The problem is only at the end for interactive, the start is fast and smooth. It becomes really annoying after a while, to wait several minutes after each interactive session.

Did anyone faced similar problems? What possibly can cause this?

For info my system specs: i7 5820k, Gforce980ti, 64 gm ram
