Hi,

depending on your needs you could consider using the accurate formula I think. Just the gamma value as exponent is a quick approximation afaik and you end up with a deviation of about 6 (using 0 to 255) at values around 130. See chart: blue is simple gamma, green graph is what you can find everywhere as formula to convert (the low value cutoffs seem to depend on color space but I think using 0-255 does not resolve enough anyway in that range and I have not used them here).

Good Luck

I'm using Kuula, but as far as I know they support only Meta glasses. I don't use VR until there are more options on the market, I don't like the privacy policy they have.
Other than that, I never had issues with Kuula.

But it would be interesting to hear what others are doing and which software they are using.

I think it rarely happens and it would trigger an error message.

Is fault tolerant heap still a thing? I have no idea if it can cause such an extreme usage drop but I remember it used to be a problem sometimes in the past.

Just tried the current daily build (15 05). Had to go back to 11 though.
I could not open the test file or the original on my Mac Studio harddrive with the current build 12. Regardless of missing textures, with CR11 the same files open instantly. The testfile is not an older file but a project I just started a week or so ago.

Hello everybody,
my client wants to see 360 panoramas with their Oculus glasses. Which service to use?
I prefer an online service compared to a desktop app because it's just more convenient for updating.

1. theViewer
Very disappointed with their service!
Had a few technical issues (p.e. when I replaced an image in the control panel with a new one, the old one kept showing up). So I couldn't refresh the images at all, maybe deleting the whole project would work, but that's a lot fo work when you already have all the hotspots setup.
I contacted their helpdesk and till this day I got no response! Nothing.
I also asked for a refund because I had to switch to another service in the middle of the project. No answer.

Oh, also installing of the VR app didn't work.

2. LAPENTOR: https://lapentor.com/
Very happy with their service and responsiveness. Everything works great.
But can't seem to use VR glasses.

3. 3DVISTA https://www.3dvista.com/en/
Seems to offer everything I need, I haven't tried it though.
But it's a desktop app which is less convenient for updating the images (more uploading, more potential technical problems).

4. KUULA https://kuula.co/
Haven't tried it. I'm not sure they offer VR glasses support.

I would appreciate your take on this.
Best,
Matej

Brandy and Chacha Distillery, Kakheti, Georgia

Our approach to the Distillery was to integrate the volume into the environment, i.e. the building was just a hint that something interesting is under the ground and once you submerge from the back of the building you really appreciate the volume and scale of the project. Technical circulation and tourist routs don’t intersect. Mezzanine level is dedicated to the tourist circulation and is elevated above the distillery – the aim was to make the factory equally functional for visitors and for brandy production itself. This building is a fully functional production/factory with 6,000 m2 of internal area.

[Max] General Discussion / Re: Single vs DR render passes

Here is a sample of this issue. DR at higher passes numbers has double the amount of noise compared to a single render.

Hi Tom, all nodes have the same hardware, except a dual CPU, but that one is never the master. We`ve set the sync interval to 90 sec. Everything lower messes the nodes when rendering 6k renders. Approx. each node does 1-2 passes in 90 seconds, so it`s not 20-30, which would result in a higher pass cumulative count after each sync interval. Nodes/master are separate from the day-to-day work and only render one render at a time. This is something that has been happening for a while now, and we use DR only when we are in a hurry to render 1-2 6k render due to this issue. It would be great to hear exp. for other forum members who use DR.
