I need help / Interior Archviz - Reflection / Refraction Override
« Last post by cjwidd on Today at 01:27:02 »
Lighting a scene with only an HDRI, but glass (window) pane reflections are stretched, disproportionate, etc.

Thinking I should use a RaySwitch material to apply custom reflections to the windows so the reflections appear sensible, i.e. scene is lit with an HDRI of a train station, but it does not make sense to have reflections of a train station in the glass windows of a scene like this, e.g. office space.

Pretty sure this is a common problem, and I think I've articulated the basics of the workaround, but missing some details.

Daily builds / Re: Corona Renderer 6 for 3ds Max - Daily Builds Discussion

Does anybody have problems with loading large scene files? I have a scene at around 10gb, which loaded in max takes at about 40gb of ram and with, and since I installed the RC1, I've noticed I can't open the scene without waiting at least 30 mins.

10GB?? I have big scenes but nothing THAT big. Anyway, try separating parts in XREFS and creating proxies for as many instances as you can. Something's not right if the scene is 10GB.

Hardware / Re: 2990wx Shutting down

Guys, I let the computer to render for around 5 hours and nothing happened. I guess the temperature is good also.
Any thoughts why this is happening, I cannot even expect when it's happening very random.

I render on it and it's fine and I leave to download and it shuts down suddenly.

lol right? The fuzzzzzz

In all seriousness, starting with a 1200 DPI scan was a huge benefit - you can see individual fibers in the scan, which is pretty incredible.

Unfortunately no, I still have to render it separately if I need it.

Hello,

Wanted to know if something similar for Corona is already in place or about to happen.
It would be extremely welcome.

Best regards

Gallery / Triada Tower
« Last post by Omegarender on Yesterday at 19:19:17 »
TYPOLOGY: Exterior
STATUS: Completed
LOCATION: Chicago, USA
ARCHITECT: Fundamental Architects
VISUALIZATION: Omega Render
COMPLETION TIME: 3 weeks

Today we would like to bring to your attention - Triada Tower.
This is a case-study for a 222-meter sustainable skyscraper in Chicago, US. This mixed-used tower rises to become a prominent feature of the skyline and dictate a new sustainable approach in high-rise design and construction.

One of the most distinguishing building features is a composition of three volumes connected with steel superstructure. Each volume houses specific function.

Top block houses high-end apartments, mid block - five star hotel with an open terrace and swimming pool, low-one features retail and other public functions to serve the community.

We tried to work through every detail to catch the spirit of the building on the renderings.
Look at the gleams of the rising sun and feel the pulse of the big city.

Context buildings around the tower have been intentionally modified to keep the project site undisclosed.
