I find it bit funny how lot of solutions started different (and simpler) from Vray but when need for more complex solutions arisen, instead of evolving said solution it was switched to exact way Vray does it
I see it too and don't really like it.

Does this fix the problem it had where it would round corners where different materials intersect/meet?

You can set it to "same object only" or exclude some objects, but maybe "same material only" would be a useful feature? Jpjapers, if you would find it useful go ahead and post a feature request.

I just checked to make sure - "same object only" works as "same object only", not as "same material only". So if you have multiple objects with the same material intersecting with each other, the round corners effect won't be visible where they meet. Would "same material only" be a useful feature or just "if it's possible, let's make it"?

IMHO  "same material only" would certainly be a very useful feature.
