Corona alpha 6.1 (download link) should install to 3ds max 2016 without problems AFAIK.

Oh, you are right, sorry. That is strange. You should be able to use the "just unpack" option in the installer, then browse the unpacked files and manually copy content of 2015 folder to your 3ds max 2016. You do not need to rename the files just make sure you do not have any other version of Corona installed.

Can somebody better explain how to install the alpha version on Max 2016? I've tried the just unpack method on just about every folder i can think of. What folder should I point it to? A Programs folder for Max 2016?

I'm using alpha 6.1. That is still a bit vague to me. I tried just copying all the stuff into the main 2016 folder.. it overwrote some .dlls and now I get errors about the Corona 1.4 (trial has ended) .. I'd like to remove that as well.

I have the .exe. When I open it it asks where I want to unpack.

Ok, after removing all of the 1.4 stuff, I tried your suggestion and it worked this time. I think there were competing portions. Thanks man.

Sorry for bumping up an old thread, but I'm having the same problem...just with 3Ds Max 2017.

Does Alpha V6.1 even still support 2017? Because I did exactly this:

Here. It should just work.

...but nothing happened. Except when I open 3D Max I get an "Error Loading Plug-in DLL" message that Corona failed to initialize. I was using the 1.5 trial before, but after it expired I removed it.

A6.1 supports Max 2011-2015. 2016 will work with 2015 plugin, but 2017 will not.

Damn, that's too bad.

Now this is probably stupid...but there's no way I can some how in some way revert my 3D max to 2016 settings so it'll work with Alpha, is there?
