Hi all. Help me figure out is this a bug or expected behavior? 3ds Max 2026, Corona 13. When I load a diffuse map through the Corona Bitmap loader, it behaves strangely it seems to load incorrectly. This is how the texture looks naturally.
This is how it looks when I load it through the Corona Bitmap loader with default settings.RGB Primaries set to Linear sRGB.Too bright...
But if i reload it manualy 3ds max from it OCIO default rules load it like srgb and then it seems to apear corect imho...
...

Hi,

Does this happen with other textures as well, or this one specifically?
It will be good to get the actual file and test it on our side.

Hi,

When you update/edit a post, there is no notification of it in forums.
In case of important message/attachment, make sure you make it as a new post.
I will have a look soon.

Update: the link is expired. Please reupload it (with a new message in this thread).

You are using custom color management settings. I would suggest resetting to system defaults.
If you are 100% sure that you need those custom settings - can you explain why?

Also, another idea is to switch to the gamma workflow and have less headaches.

I turned off tone mapping in both the viewport and material editor. I just don't like the darkening effect. It doesn't affect what I'm describing. You can reproduce the same issue by using CoronaMultiMap and batch loading some textures,it loads them in linear sRGB instead of standard sRGB. The same thing happens when i merge a model and use the Corona Converter to convert older or another renderer MTL with convert bitmaps to CoronaBitmaps ON, same it loads them in linear sRGB instead of standard sRGB
