It would be useful in the lightmix toolbar dialog to have an option of adding the selected lights to a new lightselect layer  and being able to name the layer it generates when adding selected lights.

Im not sure how else to describe it. The small dialog box that appears when you press the 'generate lightmix layers' button on the corona toolbar.
The one that gives you the option for grouped lights , instanced lights and individual lights. A 'Selected lights' option would be nice. Once selected, a second popup could appear prompting the user to name the newly generated layer.

The "Corona Interactive LightMix Setup" dialog (that's its name ;) ) is supposed to clear the previous setup and create a fresh one. It is not intended for adding some parts of LightMix to the existing setup.
For that you can just add a new LightSelect render element, select the lights you wish to include, and click the "+" button highlighted in the screenshot below.
I don't see a need to update the existing methods.

Would just eliminate alot of clicks to get to that stage is all. Maybe ill have to maxscript it.
