Hi guys. While ago i made this exterior scene using free HDRi maps from Viz-People. Now, some time later i tried to render it again and this is what i get now, no visible shadows, no lights, i mean you can see the difference. I'm using Beta - 1 version now. The previous one was some daily build version. The good one is with a little bit of post work.

Are you sure the first one was lit with HDRI only and no additional light was used? Your second example looks like typical case when scene is lit with HDRI which has clipped dynamic range, something i would expect from viz-people and 95% other HDRIs available in the wild.

I'm 100% sure there was no additional lights. I have other scenes with the same maps and they are fine, but they are made with the new, Beta 1 version. Seems like new version is not rendering properly scenes made with previous versions. I'll try to install some older daily builds and will let you know if it helps.

Hi Romullus

I take it the clipping is not desirable
Is there any HDRI's that you would advise ?

Regards

Yep, that was something with the map itsefl. I downloaded them again and it's all good.

Check out https://hdrihaven.com/ - one of the best, if not the best source for high quality HDRIs. And completely free.

Oh wow !
Normally have such a difficult time with sharp shadows and good mids
All I did was slot it in and reduce exposure..
Boom , I think its very good lit, might miss something..
Thanks for the tip Romullus ( this is Max though )

Use a light material instead of a standard Cor shader. Hdri goes in the emitter channel.

A few days ago I also wrote about this problem, with HDRI de Viz, but !!
They deleted the theme because I passed a free hdri from the same page,
But I think that you can not do that around here.
I hope you can fix the problem and see here what is the solution

Well, as a note, just because something is free, doesn't mean there are rights to redistribute it - something you have to check very carefully! So be sure you have the rights to share things before posting them here on this forum too. You can use the private uploader to share a scene for debugging purposes; or you can remove any protected (even if free) assets from the scene and provide a link for users here to go download the asset for themselves and add it back into the scene.

Yes..
I received an email where they told me that I could not ride the hdri de viz.
I explained that it was of a smaller size and that it was the free sample.
but they told me that I could not place.
So I asked that they delete it.
And I had to solve with Vray.

Although in the same way it did not remain as it is seen in the sample of the product

Hi,
it was me who contacted ozwald and asked about legality of that particular HDRI. I got an answer that HDRI was resized, but there was no mentioning about free sample, so i had to take the link down (topic itself was deleted by ozwald's request). If i would be told that HDRI was from free sample, it would be enough to mention from where HDRI was obtained and maybe provide some simple licence text.

Anyway, as i said to ozwald already, if you have material that you can't share publicly, you can always pack your scene and ypload to Corona's private uploader - only Team members will have access to it and they will use it for problem identification purpose only.
