Id love to create a ticket but im in a damage control mode now to fix the scenes we've corrupted with the new version so im guessing after this project and ill let you guys on it.

Kiril

Rendering on render slaves is atleast 3x worse than the hotfix version, hence made it unusable for us in the studio. But wait theres more :) Decided to downgrade to hotfix 1 just to finish of the project and guess what all of our max scenes that use the new auto adjustment features crash max on load. Thanks for the boatload of work we need to do i guess to fix these issues.

Avoid till everthing is fixed i guess.

Yeah saw that the email on forum/licence was different can reply now!

I received a link for this however i cant seem to open the ticket since it says page does not exist.

Hi,

I also stumbled upon another issue and that is when i have multiple cameras in different folders but rooted in same partent:
Cameras-> cam1; cam2; cam3

If i place a Postprocess.conf to each of the folders with the adjusted settings for its respective cam(1,2,3) at the same time and i start the batching it will sometimes do as in the picture posted. It will probably take a Postprocess.conf from another cam folder and apply it to the process its batching currently. This goes away if i do them one by one and i have only one Postprocess.conf in the folders while im doing the batching. Scratch that it sometimes just skips tonemaping altogether and i can't find a solution to it. Never was an issue with Corona 7

Hi Maru,

We normally use this Batch tool i think was provided from you to apply a postprocess and an after denoiser to all of our rendered animations. We used 5 of our servers that run a DR license before to achieve this since they have the better processors and 5>2 when it comes to workload. Now when we try to engage all 5 at the same time we keep getting that the image editor needs a regular license to operate and we can only do it on 2 at a time.

I hope i was more clear this time.

Hi Team Corona,

Great work on the update loving all the new features and the post has never been easier. Currently we are in the middle of rendering out some animation and we noticed that the CoronaImageBatch is taking up a license slot and we can only do 2 at a time since we have only 2 workstation licenses. Is that an intended feature?

Hey everyone,

Not alot of post of our work here, mainly due to being mostly commercial work. I took the liberty of redoing our favorite Scandinavian style in a new way while still figuring our some stuff in corona 7 after almost a year of use i'd say :D My main issues were mostly convesion related however we still continue to use this wonderful engine each day. Finally some spare time after i had my daughter to slam some interior renders and put Corona 7 to a big test :) Hope you like the images.

[Max] Bug Reporting / Problems/Bug with DR in Corona 3.0
« on: 2018-12-04, 11:29:20 »
Camera lock in 3Ds Max Render setup window was disconnecting render nodes after the initial load up. It rendered out ok at first however when i used camera angles in all the other different views egs. Viewport front was set to Camera1, Viewport Back was set to Camera2 and viewport perspective was set to the one i wanted to render it created an error where it would load the files onto the DR servers and after that it would disconnect them repeatedly. After Restarting servers/workstation, resetting network, the problem persisted up until i unchecked the lock on the field View to Render. I'll try to emulate the issue again and send some examples.

Inspired by Alexander White
Visualization and 3D modeling: Kiril Ognenov

I started this project in order to get a deeper understanding in how Alexander White uses space, lights, shadows and materials to create his unique style. This project was done following his project at: https://decor.cloud/archives/9438. It is a start of things to come for our design company to get more into the Scandinavian market for real estate, product visualization and design.

Hi, fellow artists!

Some inspiration rendering we create for our clients. This one was created for the roller blinds! They wanted a really color full image with large windows hiding some morning mist and the sun! The project was done in 3ds Max with the help of Corona. Very little post production was needed.

Share you thoughts bellow and tell me what you think :)

Hardware / Server node help!
« on: 2018-03-31, 21:54:55 »
Hi guys!

So here is the simple math. We are looking at buying a server node to help our rendering farm. Currently we have 2 good offers from both Intel and the new AMD Epyc platform that we are looking at both are the same budget cap.

https://www.amd.com/en/products/cpu/amd-epyc-7501
https://ark.intel.com/products/120492/Intel-Xeon-Gold-6130-Processor-22M-Cache-2_10-GHz

One system is 2x AMD Epyc 7501 with 128gb ram on AMD side
Second system is 2X systems with 2x Xeon Gold 6130 with 128gb ram each

on the benchmark the stack like this: EPYC 7551 only on the benchmark for AMD but its nearly the same CPU and it has 16,548,400 rays/sec
because the Xeon Gold Variant is 64threads only on one server it looks like this: Xeon Gold 6130 11,785,600 rays/sec

Don't know if this is right but by dividing the Threads / Rays/sec i get that the Xeon Gold has more rays/sec per core and in the end that would mean its the better buy. On paper the AMD system should kill the Intel but looking at this rays/sec and times i turns out otherwise.

Can someone help me out with this since both of the options are pretty expensive and i don't want to make the wrong choice here. Both of the systems are going to be used for Corona Rendering.

Thank you for taking a look!

Hardware / Farm Specification Help!
« on: 2018-03-06, 18:53:42 »
We are thinking of buying a Dell PowerEdge R7425 servers with AMD Epyc cpus.

We are looking to do a starting server of around 32cores/64threads and these are the options.

AMD EPYC™ 7281 - 32mb L3 cache                                2.7ghz
AMD EPYC™ 7301 - 64mb L3 cache + 180$ per cpu         2.7ghz
AMD EPYC™ 7351 - 64mb L3 cache + 440$ per cpu         2.9ghz

all of these are 64thread cpus when paired (so x2)
So i was thinking on does that L3 matters that much or not to justify the price because the overall ghz will be roughly the same across the board.

Any knowledge about this subject is appreciated. Thanks! Wrong place for the topic though was in hardware so if some admin can move it would be awesome!

It's super popular, it fits a large number of people and it has a distinct clean/white look to it. I got used to it as well all to much but with every other project i like it even more. Thanks for the comment appreciate it :) As for corona i think it will end up on my subscription list because it does alot of the heavy lifting that i used to do with vray.
