Good evening, cordial greetings to all! I'm sharing a beautiful project that we participated in the design and visualization of in conjunction with a prominent architectural firm. We worked on the main facade, the design of the side and rear patios, the pool, the master bedroom, the dressing room with en-suite bathroom, and the social area of the house.

Question guys when creating a Black painted metal material which of the corona physical material option gives the best result?.The non metal or metal preset? And kindly explain your reason. Thank you

Bumping this topic.

We on 3ds Max 2024 / Corona 12 Update 1 (Hotfix 1) and booting up a blank scene is super slow. The 2 main causes.

CoronaMax2024.dlr and ChaosScatterMax2024.dlt

Is there anyway to speed the process on these files?

Hi,

During v12 daily builds we have significantly improved the loading of Corona plugins. If they are significantly slower to load that other plugins during start up, then you probably need to check internet connection and/or license server, update it preferably. The slow loading of plugins may happen when e.g. Max is started sooner than license server is initiated, say after PC reboot.

The only idea I have is that perhaps you have automatic exposure enabled in the VFB? Please let me know if that's the case.
It shouldn't be behaving like this anyway, so if we confirm that, I will report it as a bug.

Sorry! Thank you for the fast response. 
The problem is only with Chaos Scans, It works fine with materials from the material Library and also when creating Legacy materials and using textures. I am also able to import people or other objects from the Cosmos browser, I only have problems there with the scans.  I also used the link and created a ticket and uploaded the documents to the ticket :)

I am a student at university and have an educational license for Corona and for C4D. I figured out that it is also not just wood textures but also other textures from the cosmos browser. However when using people plants or other objects everything works fine. Its just a problem with the materials
The problem has something (I think) to do with the mapping and scaling... When I download materials and create new Legacy materials or use materials from the material library everything works perfectly fine... its just when using materials from the cosmos browser.

Direct Visibility Override Color other than black renders object washedout white. There is an HDRI map in Render Setup dialog,  Scene Tab - Scene Environment Rollout - at Single Map Slot.

I remember Override Color only changes the background color in older versions of Corona. Has anything changed? What might have I done wrong?

[C4D] I need help! / Render Object with Transparent Shadow

I'm in the middle of my project now, but am pounding my head that I couldn't remember how I did this in the past. I have a car on an object which will eventually be placed over a still of that base object in Premiere. In the past, I figured out a way to export that car AND the shadow as one piece, RGBA sort of thing. The closest I was able to get before having to abandon ship and start rendering a separate pass for the shadows, is the vehicle with a shadow, but you can still see the form of the base object it is sitting on.

I apologize I can't post details or files yet, but wanted to put it out there. I put a Shadow Catcher Material on the base object and of course the setting inside there is where I'm sure I'm missing something, but I have tried multiple combinations of Environment/Sky Object/Compositing, Backplate/...... then I enable Multi-Pass and add Mask, Alpha, Shadows and anything else I can think of.

One question on Multi-Pass. If I enable a bunch of passes, does that add to render time, or is Corona rendering that info anyway and I'm just separate them?

Thanks for any tips.
