[C4D] I need help! / foreground object

Hi,

I read this post reggarding what I needed to do, rendering foreground somehow, but someone wrote thet it didn't work anymore with corona 6: https://forum.corona-renderer.com/index.php?topic=15842.0

Is there a way render a foreground object or something equal in v6(.1) ?
Some advice/workflow would be appreciated!

[C4D] I need help! / Image after denoising

Hi I'm having a project where the image turns (partially) black after denoising, when I render in high-res.
During the preparation of the file, I have rendered many times without problems in lower resolution.
For the high-resolution it seems fine while rendering passes, but at the end it becomes blacked out

Hi,
ever since I switched to corona 5, when I add objects to the content browser,
the thumbnails are like clay models without color or textures, sometimes partially, which is not so practical when you add various colour variants.

I was wondering if anyone else have had this problem,
and also if it is good/better behaviour in corona 6
(which I don't use yet because not yet supported by renderfarm)

in the attachment I (needless) marked objects added with corona 5, other colored ones were added in corona 4

Hi, I have a question regarding used threads in Corona (5);

In the cinema4D preferences, I have set that I want to use 64 of my 80 threads, to leave me enough threads to continue working.

However when I render, in the task manager source control, I see that all 80 cores are working at 100% and my system is quite unusable until render finishes, leading to understandable frustrations...

What is the correct way to prevent this? and does corona follow the cinema4D prefence setting concerning threads for rendering?

Hi, I am starting on a project where I want to render inside a room, multiple (read hundreds) floor finishes in a specific (spherical) camera
Is this something that can be done with a corona compatible plugin or multipass?
I'm unfamiliar with multipass so I don't know if it is possible and if so how to proceed

Any help on strategy or example setup file is much appreciated!

At the moment , a sun is rendered even when "visible in renderer" is deactivated. The only way to prevent a sun from rendering is to "disable" it.

IMO it would be more efficient if the sun would also NOT render - like sky - when "invisible in render" is set.

It could then be made invisible to renderer through a parent object, which is now not possible.
and so it would make things easier with multiple sun positions and keyframing different lighting setups for different frames...

Hi, I'm having a very urgent problem (deadline coming up in few hours):

I want to render a background plane (c4D plane with light material, for only background visibility) behind a window, but it renders black in IR or normal render when a compositing tag is applied to it with only shadows disabled? If I leave shadows on, no sky light is entering the building


any quick tips are most welcome !! stressing out here...

Hi, I made a european license plate rig, to make some variations for cars in residential renderings. I could apply the rig to every vehicle, but most of the cars already have a black (slightly curved) plate in place. It would thus be quicker to use a PBR material for it with color, reflection and displace/bump map.

I am totally unfamiliar with multipass (can you imagine?!), but is it possible to retrieve with MP a layer that can be used as bump or displace map, p.e. when I render frontal?
I thought it could be done with z-depth layer, but that layer is plain grey

Hi, I think it would give more control in setting up the material glossiness, when a bitmap is used, that it can be mixed with the regular value slider in certain cases depending on the used bitmap. 
Standard value should be normal mode+100% strength so nothing changes in behaviour compared to today.
Coming from vray for quite a while now, I still miss this feature during daily work...

Is it still possible to render pool caustics with HF1? with me it seems that, when changing to PPM renderer for that, c4d crashes when starting a render or IR

it wouild be nice to have that in the standard progressive renderer though...

I have these problems converting purchased 3d models to corona from native c4d engine.

From Native C4D engine:

For reflectance channel; The "layer Fresnel - IOR" is not converted properly, so metals with a IOR of 10 get a Fresnel IOR of standard 1.52 after conversion.

For layer shader (p.e. in diffuse channel); all layers are deleted after conversion.

For Transparency channel ; Bluriness is not converted to refraction glossiness

Hi,

Is it possible that in corona 3, IES color is not rendered? I see no change when changing the color saturation, even when set to 100%.

It also seems to reset the color settings (at least saturation) to zero when loading an older file or object from content brwser, which is very inconvenient...

edit:
after some testing, I found that the light itself is rendering OK, but when it is instanced (not "render instanced" but just instanced in a fixture) or inside a cloner, the coloring is neglected.
When making the instance editable again, the color is still neglected.

can someone reproduce this error?

Hey everyone,
I have an annoying problem regarding my custom material previews (originally vray material previews). as i learned from an earlier topic regarding material previews, I understand corona takes only the object, and that's fine by me, but ever since the beta release on 5-9-2018, the material previews are shown at about 60% of what they were before, as shown in the image
and they were already so small ;-)

I tried numerous variations including enlarging the object in the scene using size in coordinates, using Scale in the coördinates, changing object or camera position, camera angles etc... but it always seems to display the same size.

any ideas how to create a full size material preview? thanks
