"Syntropy" describes a concept opposite to entropy. While entropy refers to the tendency of systems to move towards a state of disorder, randomness, or chaos, syntropy suggests a tendency toward order, organization, and complexity.
This project is both a short film and a teaser for my next course: "Tyflow for Archviz", which will be released in a few months.

Hello everyone, long time no see...
Today I wanna share some renders of this Full CGI project (except the 2 first images). I did most part of the assets, and mountains in 3DsMax and also created 99% of vegetation using GrowFx. Most parte of the renders came out directly from the frame buffer. I made an effort to combine a variety of moods in some images to make it more insteresting.
I hope you like it 🙂

Hello guys,
I was trying to find some spare time to create a new personal project for my portfolio, so I decided to create this short 15 seconds Full 3D animation inspired by an idea originally drawn by my great friend Daniela @dddonato
I did not follow 100% the original drawing and also I created several extra elements to add a greater depth in perspective and specially a more detailed storytelling of everything that happened in the scene.
The scene is a self-portrait of her own (Dani and her cat called "Menina" which means "Girl' in english).

It was a really cool experience to work with a more artistic theme, especially for escaping a little bit from the usual Archviz and Rendering Courses work, which has been part of my routine for so long.
I hope you like it.

Hello guys, I was trying to use kelvin temperatures on Lightmix but it seems to set wrong temperatures.
Im using Corona 6.0 and White Balance as default 6500k

Bellow you will see my tests without and with lightmix

1 - Using 4500K directly on Corona Light Properties

2 - Using Pure White on Corona Light Properties and changing to 4500K within LightMix

Left= Corona Lights with 4500K
Right= Corona Lights with White & Lightmix with 4500K

In my opinion, lightmix Color is using Srgb values and not RGB values, or something like that. I created a Corona Color > Color Picked the 4500K little color square on Corona Light Properties to know which SRGB and RGB a 4500k light has, and I got:

SRGB: 255,219,186
RGB: 254,184,127

If I set my lightmix Color to 4500K it gets the SRGB: 255,219,186 Values is doesn´t match the Corona lights 4500k color.
If I set my lightmix Color to RGB: 254,184,127 Values and it matches perfectly with 4500k of Corona Lights.

Any tip on how to get the correct Kelvin RGB on lightmix (besides type the rgb as I did)? Am I doing something wrong? or this is really a Corona Render Bug?
.
.
thank you so much

* This is a TEST... I was not worried about wetmaps or veg animation *
Another simple test using Phoenix FD (with foam) + Corona 6.0 (Daily Build) + Caustics + Motion Blur.
Hope you like it :)

First test on Corona Render 6.0 Daily Build.

Phoenix + Foam + caustics.
Sim time = 2secs per frame
Rendertime = 30 secs to 2 mins per frame

The drawback of this technique is to be limited to just 1 object.

I would say the main drawback is, that the falloff map does not respect geometry of the distance object so that you are limited to a radial/spherical area. You cannot cut straight lines with it. Have you tried using the distance map in the shader opacity slot instead? This may be a better workaround.

Good Luck

In fact I will not use any of these workarounds because I wanna teach this technique (with distance) in my Corona Course because I know it is way better for this process. I just said one of the drawbacks, but yes, falloff It will limit this features as well.

About the distance + Opacity, I tried but it increased the rendertime a lot (as expected by using opacity)

Anyways, I can wait the bugfix in the next versions. Thanks a lot for the tip.

Hi,

Thanks for reporting this to us. I can confirm the issue in RC4 and in V3 HF2.

I've reported it to the development team, but the chances of this making it into V4 are unfortunately very slim :(

I'll do my best to keep you updated on any progress.

Thanks,

Rowan

Thanks Rowan, I can wait :)

I found a workaround using a FALLOFF map.

Falloff Type: Distance Blend
Falloff Direction: Object (picking the Cylinder object as distance reference)

As you can see, with the falloff technique  it works in the viewport and render. The drawback of this technique is to be limited to just 1 object. So Would be lovely if this technique could work with Corona Distance.

Any chance of this being solved before the 4.0 final release?

Hello, I´m using Corona 4.0 RC4 (I also tried in RC3). I was trying to use Corona Distance to cut some hair and fur near to some specific object.

As you can see in the image, it works in the viewport but its not working ate the render.

I don´t know if this is a Release Candidate issue because I didn´t try to do the same with Corona 3.0...

It used to work on older versions of corona or this feature never worked???

12
Ondra,

do you think that would be possible to solve this issue in some 4.0 release candidates?

https://forum.corona-renderer.com/index.php?topic=24544.0

I use displace + distance a lot in my works and I don´t wanna use 3.0 anymore just because of it.
thanksss

I would say this is because light from the light source is actually now being refracted (which is what caustics do, bend light), while previously light from the light source was not being refracted (only the ray from the camera was being refracted, determining what you saw through the water, but not determining how light from light sources was bent by the water). But, would need the devs to say for sure :)

I thought the same. But it looks like bent too much in this case. Let see what the devs will say. Thanks a lot Tom

Hello guys... is it normal to have all this shadow difference between Water Without Caustics X Water With Caustics? It seems to be changing IOR when activated...
I´m Also using the new caustics solver on Corona Render Setup

[Max] Resolved Bugs / Re: Distance map crash
« on: 2019-01-31, 16:57:28 »
Does it happen without the material editor being open, too?

It's always a good idea to include a simple repro scene.

It crashes not when I move the line points... But it doesnt update the movement in the interactive render. Once I stop and restart the interactive, it crashes anyways.

Hi,

Thank you for reporting this to us. As suggested it would be very helpful if you could attach a simple scene which produces this crash in order for us to reproduce this issue.

Can you please also send me the minidump which is created when the crash happens? Instructions on how to do this are in my signiture.

Thanks,

Rowan

I edited my first post and attached minidump + max2019 file.

This is just a simple example file, but it happens on all scenes with distance + composite - Not just working with lines, but with meshes linked to distance as well.
