I´m having this issue since corona 3.0 + (as far as I remember).

• If I move the line points (or model position) linked to a distance tex map on diffuse slot, it works fine.
• If I do the same, but using Composite map, It crashes 3dsmax if the interactive render is running.

It´s some bug related to Distance Tex + Composite.

Does it happen without the material editor being open, too?

It's always a good idea to include a simple repro scene.

Hi,

Thank you for reporting this to us. As suggested it would be very helpful if you could attach a simple scene which produces this crash in order for us to reproduce this issue.

Can you please also send me the minidump which is created when the crash happens? Instructions on how to do this are in my signiture.

Thanks,

Rowan

Now c'mon folks. You can repro this with a few clicks and there is even a video. You can create a dump in 10 seconds.

Good Luck

(could not resist)

Never underestimate the power of a well placed level one spell.

It crashes not when I move the line points... But it doesnt update the movement in the interactive render. Once I stop and restart the interactive, it crashes anyways.

I edited my first post and attached minidump + max2019 file.

This is just a simple example file, but it happens on all scenes with distance + composite - Not just working with lines, but with meshes linked to distance as well.

Hey,

Thanks for the minidump and scene, it is very helpful.

I have reproduced the CTD here and I have forwarded the ticket to our devs so that they can investigate further.

I'll do my best to keep you updated, have a nice weekend!

Thanks,

Rowan
