Hello everyone,
After I spend my trial of corona render mostly on old vray scenes I decided to buy it.
This is the WIP of my first project with Corona render. I can't describe how much time less I spend with this awesome peace of software. Truly a gem in ArchViz, congrats!

The project is about a loft designed in a ex-garage place. The only difficulties I had were archieving a realistic glass material for the facades and the long render times when rendering 4K with Dof (i7 3770). For the first one I found some useful info at the forum but I am not still satisfied.. For the second probably I need a new computer!
Anyway any comments and critics or tips and tricks are more than welcome and they will help me with the rest images of the project.

Thank you for your time!

Great renders! Why it is in WIP section?

Because it's a in finished project but an admin can move it if it's better to be in the gallery..

If it's unfinished and you are planning to update it, then let's leave it here. :)

About tips and tricks - I believe you will find valuable resources in our helpdesk portal: https://coronarenderer.freshdesk.com/solution/categories , especially check out the "how to" category.

About DoF rendering - if you haven't done that, you should decrease GIvsAA setting to about ~4-8. This will increase quality of DoF or motion blur at the cost of GI quality, but after few more passes GI should refine anyway.

That could be misinterpreted. I'm sure maru wanted to say that quality of GI will remain the same, it just will take longer to converge compared to DOF, MB and AA.

I tried to decrease it to 8 but the noise was still there. I will try 4 and i will update, thanks for that, I thought 4 is too low.
I will post some wires later today to discuss if this project needs portals or not, because it has large windows only in front.
I tested both but it needed the same render time to be acceptable. (20h for ~100 passes with slight dof).
One more question, if i disable "exclude from advanced lighting calculations" at object properties for the glass will make the scenes render faster?
I remember that with vray when you uncheck "visible to GI" at vray properties helped a lot..

You are right. Maybe more like more GIvsAA = GI will refine faster than DOF, less GIvsAA = DOF will refine faster than GI.

It will have no impact. "Exclude from adv..." is a legacy setting that works with 3ds Max's native light tracer and radiosity (I think so) and no one uses it. :) To exclude objects from GI/reflection/refractio/direct visibility in Corona you should use the rayswitch material. Here:

Looks fantastic!
I'm curious about the glare in the handle on the fridge. It looks great. I am assuming that it is post, of course, since Corona doesn't have any post processing stuff (yet..). Any comments?

It's Arion Fx plugin for photoshop and it's great for bloom and glare. I read a post where @BBB3viz mentioned it and I gave it a try. It has other great options to but I haven't use them yet.

Thank you! Only the plants and trees are 3d at the backyard (Forest pack). The background is a uncapped cylinder with corona light material mapped.

One other problem I am trying to solve is the window glass material. To achieve the dirty look I followed the advice from this link  https://forum.corona-renderer.com/index.php/topic,7094.0.html as romullus mentioned in another post. I am not sure if this is the right way to do it but i am trying to find a way to get realistic double reflections. I have read somewhere in the past that you can use the reflection pass and moving it a bit, to fake the result.
Any advise or idea will be appreciated..

Hello giozaha. Really nice images you have here. Are u using displacement or normal maps for your walls and floor. Also how high are the resolution of the textures you are using?
Thanks.

Hello, just simple bump using procedural textures, you can check Grant's MAstering Vray lesson 11. He has shown an nice workflow creating this kind of shaders.
