Hello!I'm new using Corona....I really love it but I'm not able to achieve decent render time.....

I have render this scene 2400 x 1800 in 11:30 Hours and 364 passes....indicative rays per passes 2900.....with an Intel I7 3930K 32 GB ram

It still have noise.....it is normal? Can you please help me for have better render times?I think it will need other 3/4 hours for clean up completly.....:(

I attach raw render(saved for restart it)and render settings with materials settings.......I hope you can help.......

This could be hard to diagnose. I would suspect:
-vray hdri (not sure if it has any impact though)
-do you have bitmap paging disabled? https://forum.corona-renderer.com/index.php/topic,1662.msg12232.html#msg12232
-this portal + light setup looks suspicious, could you check if it's any faster without that portal by the light?
-bercon maps (not sure about speed impact again)
-reflective materials - looks like you are using them almost everywhere - walls, floor, etc

Maybe good idea would be to determine whether the slowdown is caused by materials, or lighting, or something else. For example you can try using material override (scene>render overrides) and put some matte grey material on everything. If it's faster, then the slowdown is most probably caused by materials. You could try deleting lights, etc.

Here are some hints on optimizing renders:

Dear Maru,

thanks for your reply.....I know about reflective materials......but at the end in real world all the materials got reflections......

I'm triyng to have the best realistic result working hard on shaders....

I will follow your suggestion and let you know...

many thanks!

Dear Maru,

I finally find the time for make some test.....

I think the main problem was the ALBEDO......now the scene Rendering better......but I'm not sure I optimize Corona as better as possible....

there is still some noise after 9:45 295 passes  hours....I have cancel the Vray hdri and now I'm using Corona default.....I have cancel the corona light close to the corona portal.....I have change the material diffuse to 0,7 on materials that got red color in the Albedo Pass

I would like to use Corona...it is very simple and I really like it....but please help for have decent render time......

Any way for have good quality renders in 6 hours?

Can you share the max file? If you don't want to make it public you can create a new support ticket ( https://coronarenderer.freshdesk.com/support/tickets/new ) and we will take a look at it.

Hi. Have you tried to render without the portals? You've got quite large window openings, so it's possible that the portals actually makes a slower render than without. I've had scenes similar to yours where this was the case.

BTW - You are using blend/mix and composite maps/materials quite heavily, which are known to slow down rendertimes (3dsMax issue).

Thanks for the TIPS PROH.....but I will send the files to the team and hoping for a solution(and/or a guide for my workflow)....I had problems also with my first corona render......(terrible render times..about 20 hours)If I will always use Corona I hope to always got beutiful renders with complex scenes (like exterior with complex vegetation for example or more complex interiors)with acceptable render times.....

Thanks Maru....I collect the file and open a ticket
