Hi all

I have some issues with motion blur in combination with hair and fur geometry , I am rendering static frame - no animation but because I have particle flow in my scene that needs to be motion blurred to look correctly I enabled geometry and camera motion blur in corona settings, however this causes me headaches because with hair modifiers enabled (around 150000 strands) the UHD precomputation time went up drastically ..is there anything I´m doing wrong, or is there option to exclude everything but the particle system from motion blur calculations?

Thanks

I'm a bit lost here. :)
Do you have problems with motion blur or UHD cache precomputation time? Or one is connected with the other?
Are you using hair&fur or pflow, or both?

I don´t have problems with motion blur I have problems with precomputation time and crashes when hair and fur and particles and motion blur are enabled together
I am using pflow and hair and fur at the same time

Could you post an example image/scene?

When using particles + motion blur, it is usually required to use dynamic material operator, otherwise it can produce strange results. Maybe this will help?

Hi Maru

I´m using dynamic material operator...and right now I´m trying to render - it goes absolutely fine without motion blur, but when I´d enable it the precomputation time grows from 1 min. to aprroximately 5 mins

I reviewed the scene and it seems it is just too heavy because instancing on hair is not supported yet. We will try to add it in some future update, but there is no support from autodesk on this topic whatsoever
