It's a "little" too small to say something about the materials. All I can say is that Corona handles opacity differently than Vray or MentalRay. Corona uses the rgb channels, not the alpha of an image. That can be problematic if the original materials were using (for example) and png with embedded alpha. In cases when "Mono channel output: Alpha" is set, Corona would still use the rgb channels and this cannot be converted properly.
But apart from that there is still the possibility that the conversion sucks ;) If you could elaborate what didn't convert properly or let me have a look at the original material I could say more to that and probably fix some issues.
