If your pc shuts down during rendering, it may be due to hardware problems. It happened to me few times, right before my PSU has died.
I'm not Corona Team member. Everything i say, is my personal opinion only.

there is the old saying: "Hardware that can be destroyed by software deserves to be destroyed".

If your HW cannot handle full load, you should upgrade cooling or PSU, or underclock it
Rendering is magic. How to get minidumps for crashed/frozen 3ds Max | Sorry for short replies, brief responses = more time to develop Corona ;)

Could be CPU cooler not installed properly or inadequate. CPU gets to hot and PC shuts itself down.

Download and install these:
Prime (stress tests your CPU) http://www.mersenne.org/download/

Tells you the temp of all your sensors (CPU included, more accurate than realtemp I think) http://www.almico.com/speedfan.php

If your CPU gets to hot upgrade the cooling and/or check airflow through your machine. I upgraded by simply adding one fans changing the rest to the 'Noctua NF-F12 IndustrialPPC 3000RPM PWM 120mm High Performance Fan' found here 'https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FG-022-NC'. They're pretty quiet as long as you don't put the fan in the CPU fan header otherwise the 3,000 RPM can become a little loud all the time. These suck in serious amounts of air. You can actually feel the air getting pulled in. I also re-sitted my CPU with new thermal paste and the temps dropped 10degC on average.
