Hi,

as you can see in the images, if we have a vase with flat basement, and if I don't want to see the black contact area, I have to move the vase slightly on Z axis.
Maybe it will be better to find some smart solution.

Hi. Can confirm this problem in A6. Only solution I have found so far, is to move them apart (just like you show).

I don't see why did you report it as a bug? Every render engine do that. It's not renderer, it's user should take care about coplanar surfaces. If you don't want to lift objects above surface, offset its pivot point slightly instead.
I'm not Corona Team member. Everything i say, is my personal opinion only.

I know =) . I wrote "problem", not "bug". Ok, maybe not the right position of this thread.Anyway...
For example, in V-Ray there is a "secondary rays bias" option to solve this problem. I think it will be useful also in Corona.

as romullus said, every renderer does this - it is the "garbage in, garbage out" rule. Solving this in renderer is not necessary, and maybe not even possible.
Rendering is magic. How to get minidumps for crashed/frozen 3ds Max | Sorry for short replies, brief responses = more time to develop Corona ;)

Yes, but in V-Ray, if I remember correctly, we hadn't this problem, cause the "secondary rays bias"  option.
Also, it  could be useful for imported bad geometry with two polygons on the same position.
