I have no idea who in their right mind would use color spread 1, but it delivers different results based on the Rays/Samples ratio.

I see the cause for the problem, but I dont know if it is fixable in any reasonable way...

It's a feature, not a bug.
Now you can adjust this effect in ways, you WOULDN'T EVEN THINK should be possible.
Corona, more felxibility, even if you didn't want more :P

Vray behaves the same way. If you use extreme spread or color modification of AO map, you need lot more samples to get some meaningful result. Moving to resolved
