Hi,

is that right that corona does not render proxies with distributed rendering correctly?
Can anyone help me with that?
When i render a proxy with a single maschine everything seems to be correct but when i start
a render job with distributed rendering, the proxy seems to be something like transparent or semi transparent??
Thanks and best! Niko

This probably means your slave PCs can't access the proxy files you are using. So your main PC renders ok and other PCs render nothing. Mixing these makes your objects transparent. You need to provide access to all the files used in your scene to all the PCs (for example use network folders or copy files manually to each slave).

A common mistake is to set assets via "c:\random name folder\random folder\asset"    instead of "\\random folder name\random folder\asset"
The place in with the proxy file is located must be accesible to all render nodes on the net, and UNC file paths must be used.
You can check in assets browser.

First when you create the proxy, you select the NET FOLDER location to place it using UNC paths. See IMG1 (I use "\\" instead of "C:\")
If you select the proxy in the scene, and see where is loaded from it should say the path UNC style( "\\" instead of "C:\"). Check IMG2.

You must check  this is the case in your scene.

Press "Shift+t" opens the Asset Tracking in 3ds Max. It list all assets in your scene and they locations. Double check that directories are in the form "\\netpath\asset" instead of "c:\netpath\asset"

As example check IMG3, i intentionally map the same proxy both ways. Marked in red cant be accesed trough renderslaves in net UNLESS they are literally copied in the same folder in each PC.

You can change paths in Assets track. Select asset->rigth click->set path. See IMG4

Hope that helps.

Hi!
maru and borisquezadaa, thank you very much for your detailed information. Actually i had installed a UNC Path, but something seemed to be wrong so that i resetup everything exactly like you discribed and voila, the proxies are all rendering fine! Thanks for that.
But now there happened different strange things, you can see it in the picture attached.
The renders starts fine, but than after 2 minutes or so there appears something like a white stripe in the image. I dont know why.
When i hide the proxies it still appears in the render. But only again in distributed rendering mode. When i render it just with my workstation everything works fine.
You have an idea for that?
I am going to despair little by little :(
