When I render individual items in "isolation mode" Corona renders fine.
But, when I render the whole model Corona parses to 1:38 and stops, the computer lags terribly and I have to cold start the computer.

My Max file size is: 574Mb
I have an (.7) chip and 12 GB of ram.
I have Corona 7.2

Is my model too big?

I believe the best thing you can do is upload the scene and see if Keymaster can have a look at it.

Well, is your RAM filled up or not? Are those 12 gb gone or do you have enough free space left while rendering?
Any sufficiently advanced bug is indistinguishable from a feature.

I cleaned out the registry a few days ago... and I cleaned Max.
Maybe the best solution is to HIDE SELECTED everything that is not in the scene. I have created a model with alot going on in each room.
My master plan was to finish the model completely and then take a render of each room... since all the rooms are open plan and join onto each other.

Is there another way I can clean the RAM that I don't know about?

When I used Vray for Sketchup... since Sketchup was not 64bit and could only use 3GB of ram it used to crash on heavy scenes. Hence my move to Max.
I had to clean my regisrty out often with a little script before render. But, I should not have this problem with 12GB of Ram.

Hi Kurai

if I am not mistaken you are running on Windows 7.
I have a CPU widget installed on my desktop. I use it for monitoring my CPU and RAM activity.
Maybe wise to do it as well. (Although I have read that you dit not have any problems with SketchUp).

You can download it here. http://orbmu2k.de/category/sidebar-gadgets

Thanks for the reply. I will try the widget. But, do I run the widget while trying to render an image.
How do I use the widget?

Plus, what widget do I download? There's about 20 of them and none say CPU widget. Which one do I download?

Okay, I found what the problem was. I had a large array of downlights with Vray lights info in each one. When I hide these lights it renders without problems.
When I put the lights back in Corona failed to render.

But, I have another problem I cannot seem to fix.
When I render I get a red line (obviously from a Vray material) outside my window (see pic). I have tried everything to delete what this thing is but it
cannot be selected. It only appears during render.

Any ideas?

if you have an Intel processor you take that one. There are widgets for grapic cards as well.
Mine is running all the time. From the moment windows fires up untill I switch off my pc.

I avoid widgets... because I am easily distracted. But, it's worth giving it a go just to see if my system is struggling or not. I always feel 16GB would be better than 12GB. 4 GB per core.
I liked your website... very inspiring and fresh.
