dear development team,
last week i promoted corona to a big furniture company & to some friends too.
they never tried corona before, but on the first try, they are so surprised... very very interesting with its performance & naturality.
they said it produce beautiful images even without post-production (they realy hate post-production).
here it is their feedback after few days trial: (perhaps you guys can help me to answer these questions)
- will you guys update the complete corona documentation when corona 1.0 released?
they mean complete documentation is not just render setting only. but new average users need the explanation about material settings and tutorial for usage too. vray did it perfectly in http://docs.chaosgroup.com/
- according to performance-debugging page, why corona looks afraid of complex blend material & opacity map for foliage? is this only a temporary limitation? if yes, will this be fixed on the v0.1 release?
- ies light in a glass case furniture is producing scary noise even rendertime took more than 10hours with default render settings? i advice him to increase the "light samples multiplier" or change the ies or change to bucket, but the result looks like has no much differences & gives no any acceptable quality. (furniture is similar like mine, check this)
- it has no glare feature. i answered, it's been requested by many users in the forum. will this be added on the v0.1 release?
- and the same question with this https://forum.corona-renderer.com/index.php/topic,5906.msg40524.html#msg40524.

i don't know why they don't want to join this forum, so they can ask or find many "problem&solution" as many as they like.
sorry guys, i know these are some complex questions. but i think it will looks weird too when i post many topics with my username in the same time. hope there is some help for this potential users

thanx

Your post is quite difficult to read, even tho you give quite detailed explanation. w/o showing the scene or/and materials its pointless to guess what is wrong.

You seem to be excited when you wrote your post.

Complex blend materials and opacity maps puts stress on most raytracing engines.
IES noise - it is said, that currently work is going on this problem, so i believe it should be adressed in V1.0.
Glare is post render effect. It's better to leave to post production stage. But i've heard that there's plans to add such feature in future.

Glare is special occasion where post effect should be present right in the render. Often times what people perceive as fireflies on reflective materials are actually correct highlights, just missing secondary camera effect -> glare. So they often look like aliased lines or sharp white dots/clusters of dots, and therefore appear as unwanted artifacts, while if they have a glare on top, they look natural and one does not feel the need to compensate for them or remove them.

I completely agree with you on that, as i'd like that feature myself very much. But i don't think it is game stopper at the moment :]

yes tanakov, i knew it. they didn't give me the pics or scene, i'll ask them again (or i'll try it by myself).
rawalance, i totally agree with you. it is always be an advantage for most render engine & i guess 99.9% users love this feature even it doesn't needed in every case.
romullus, thank you for the explanations. i'm always exciting when there is a chance to promote corona to anybody i meet. proud to be a part of this renderer (even being a smallest part).
what about the first point (corona documentation)? i think it is when a product really care about it's introduction to consumer (just like detailed manual instruction), yeah .. that's the biggest point.

Adam HotovĂ˝ is working on quite comprehensive FAQ at the moment. It's not exactly documentation Corona needs, but with time it happens, i believe.
