Does anyone know how to "invert" a specular map in Max.

When using Arroway textures they tell you to invert certain maps like Specular for better results.
I know how to do it is Sketchup, but not Max.

Thanks.

There are many options to do this. You can put your map inside colour correction map and check the "invert" checkbox. As far as I remember you can also invert maps directly from your "bitmap" map, scroll down to "output" parameters and there should also be an "invert" tick. Just don't do both. ;)

Also, googling doesn't hurt.

Many thanks for the answer. I don't know what your workflow is but I try hard to avoid sidetracks.... especially Goggling. Eistein used to wear the same clothes so it did'nt take brainpower trying to choose something to wear.
Your precise answer has saved me straining my eyes.... thank goodness for forums :)
