Hi all,

I'm not sure if this is a known issue, but I have a .max scene with a number of XRef scenes into it. When I sent it to Distributed render, only the objects in the actual scene gets rendered, rest of the Xref-ed scenes do not get rendered.

To workaround, I had to merge all objects then send to render. Could someone tell me if I have done any settings incorrectly?

Currently using A7.1.

Many thanks :D

this actually works for us here
we can even send the job to network render with xrefs in it (using deadline)

make sure all the DR render nodes can see the xrefs and maps etc.
use UNC names (\\server\path) not mapped drive names like p:\maps

Same here. I had 9 Xrefs, 4 million polys on base scene and 950 lights, it worked better than any other 1mil poly scene I have ever done with MR. ;)

I tried and xrefs are working - this seems to be the standard problem of not using UNC paths. Unfortunately 3dsmax requires all paths to be UNC mapped to find the files on network drives
Rendering is magic. How to get minidumps for crashed/frozen 3ds Max | Sorry for short replies, brief responses = more time to develop Corona ;)
