Hello to everybody,

I'm a new corona user so please forgive me my total lack of knowledge. Currently I'm using 3Dsmax + vray for a couple of years and I'm thinking about changing to Corona. I'm impressed with this engine's speed vs quality and simplicity of settings. Actually my hands just wanted to change some material subdivs but they couldn't find any :P. Vray could learn from it

I took my old project made in Vray and converted it to corona renderer with the converter 0.19. I just turned off the vray sun and left only Vray Hdri map as enviroment map. I didn't change any settings, everything by default (I think so, thats why I upload the screen of render settings just in case). Everything looks stunning in comparison to vray, but there are some noticeable fireflies on the concrete and stone. The screen of the render is after 6 hours of rendering and 230th pass. I checked it earlier in about 120th pass and there were much more fireflies on theese materials, totally not acceptable. Theese are stone and concrete with matte glossy reflections and bump on it. All the textures are in 3K with good details. All other materials looked perfect on 120th pass, even the carpaint that was matte glossy and directly lit by Hdr, so I think it's bump problem. Is there any way to get rid of them by changing material or render settings? Or should I just wait to such high number of passes and clean the rest in post? I attach screens from all the settings. I looked for this problem on forum, but didn't find satisfying answer.

Thanks for reply in advance :), best regards

Those aren't fireflies. It's just your bump value is much too strong. Generaly in Corona you very rarely need to go higher than 0,1 for bump.

Thanks, I thought so. Is there any tutorial/manual for the optimal material settings in corona? Theese bump values are much different than in vray, and I think others are too :)

Actually theese are fireflies. I lowered the bump to .17 and the problem still exists on 125th pass even. Actually nothing changed beside the visibility of bump on a surface. Maybe it is the HDRi lightning that is much harder to render noisless?

I'm pretty sure that should you lower that wall material's glossiness value, those "fireflies" would dissapear ;]
