is there a way to uninstall a7? I reported a bug with corona lights and targets but said bug also made it impossible to open my file, was hoping to go back to a6 but not sure how to clean out a7.

try to merge everything but the targets of those lights in a new scene.
Any sufficiently advanced bug is indistinguishable from a feature.

can't, targets are included in the light object itself, don't have the option to merge without the targets. Fortunately I might be done with this scene, however if I have to revisit it then I'll have to rebuild the lighting, which is a huge pain because I work on trade show arch viz stuff and have hundreds of lights in my scenes... I guess thats why they call it alpha ;)

Probably would be a good idea to warn people not to use instanced corona lights w/targets

Hi,

Same thing happend to me.
I was working on the scene everything was ok but as soon as I wanted to reopen a previous scene max crashed.
It happend with all the scenes I had.
So I needed to merge everything to a new scene except the corona lights to save the work and finish with vray.
I have aslo worked on another job with only a few lights with no targets and it had no problem. (light were instanced/ max 2014 64bit with service packs installed)
Good luck,
