Hello,All.
I am a student currently looking into using corona for my final year project.I am interested in using it for future projects.I understand that there is going to be a commercial version this year.Is there going to be a free version and how much will the commercial version be? What I am working on is an animation and if I intend to render an animation in considerable time,my renders will have a lot of noise.
So does anyone know of a good technique that can be employed to remove the noise in say AE.There aren't much animations done with Corona at the moment but it would be nice to know how to go about this with the best results possible.I have heard of Neat Video,I am wondering if the free version is any good.Are there other plugins one can use?It would be nice if Corona devs add a small standalone app that comes with corona's install that can remove noise.
I am really loving this app.

Your questions were answered before, so far its not yet decided.

By removing noise, you mean rendering? Then there is a way to load render from exr files if im not mistaken.

I was wondering if someone could give me a rough idea of how much it will cost.I don't want to start using it intensively only to find it is beyond my reach when it goes commercial.

i meant if u render out an animation from corona and there is noise. what would be the best way to go about removing them in post production?

I believe it will be safely within everyone's reach.

Regarding noise in post, some people really do advice NeatVideo. I personally wasn't really fond of it...but there really is no magical de-noising that will keep perfect clarity for architecture. I don't think
that's what these plugins were written in mind either. But it's decent.
Maybe some future version might offer fully precomputed GI algorithms (like IR maybe) but for now, you just optimize your scene best way you can and throw render power at it :- )

@Juraj_Talcik
Yeah,I am thinking of trying the noise filter in AE first though I am doubting I would get good results from it.Has anyone tried the free version of neatvideo.Is it able to get most of the noise out or u need the pro version go get moderate results?

@rampally
Yes,that would really increase corona's popularity.The inclusion of the corona material converter is one of the best features they have added to the release.It saves u a lot of time.Little apps like these help strengthen corona's features and ranking among the popular renderers right now.I would say if there are able to come up with a free app that u can remove the noise with especially for animations will help most ppl considering using it for animations and might also arouse professional companies interest in using it not just for archviz but for feature films and animated movies.
I really hope they consider this because I know if they do create something like that.It will surpass what neatvideo is capable of.

yeah, but... it isnt a simple process, it would take a LOT of time to do it right.
Rendering is magic.How to get minidumps for crashed/frozen 3ds Max | Sorry for short replies, brief responses = more time to develop Corona ;)

Speaking about noise, I use these days the Neat image to reduce the noise, but it's not that good on some areas you will lose lot of details. Before when i used A2 or A3 it was not that noisy i was only giving it some time to clean up and voila no need for noise reduction...

So Corona got noisier since then? Or your scenes got more complex? :)

I know it is gonna be hard.I have always repected software devs.I can't begin to fathom how u guys use codes to create a software that noobs like us can use.I call it magic.I am sure Corona will gain a lot if something like this is added.I really hope u guys consider it and I know it will take a long time to get it up and running.More power to ur elbows,guys.

Btw,does anyone know the settings that was used for alpha 4 benchmark scene?I will like to try it out with my scene to see if I can get a reasonable quality at a faster speed.

For my experience even if i have a legacy build ( slow one ) yes it got noisier than before in simple scenes ( also with old a2/a3 scenes, especially noise on reflections ).

i wanted to test the A3 again but i'm afread to mess with the others files since it's a very old build.
