Please help with a vote, Chaos staff wrote during zoom workshop if enough votes are collected, it will become something they can consider doing in the future.

As suggested in the 'zero to hero workshop' by a Chaos staff representative, here I start over with the suggestion to port/adapt Corona for Blender. The reason for that is that in these uncertain times, with cutting costs everywhere lots of people from our industry(archviz, retail and productviz) migrate to Blender as a much cheaper alternative to 3ds max. This migration/transition can be sweeter if there is a part of the software/process that feels like home - that is Chaos Corona.

Already proposed, already declined : https://chaoscorona.ideas.aha.io/ideas/CMAX-I-200

Beyond the reasons explained by Tom in the link above, the port was seriously considered by the original dev of Corona but quickly dismissed because of the GPL license. At that time a Python plugin with a server to make the renderer - DCC communicate was not realistic in terms of performance, but nowadays it seems doable since V-Ray was rewritten from scratch with decent IR and Octane seems well etablished in Blender land.

IMO if you're serious about using Blender, just use Cycles. It's not as beautiful as Corona and the GI can be lacking but its deeply integrated, the interactive mode is the most stable and fast I've ever used, and you'll find tons of ressources and assets on the market.
