Hi,

Similar to Forest Pack, it would be great if you could select objects that the scatter should avoid and how far away from their center or simplified perimeter to be the avoidance.

Thanks!

Tried to think outside the box here for a minute and I managed to find a workaround - using a "Section" shape type object that sections the initial selection of objects that I wanted the scatter to avoid and it can be used in the Areas section of Chaos Scatter.
I suppose this works for simple objects (I just used the Section on some walls) but I think that if you want to use vegetation meshes, things will go south really fast.

Hi,

Not sure what's your case, but there is CoronaDistance texture, which can be used to set objects, define a distance and use it as distribution map for scatter.
Other workarounds, like vertex paint, volume select etc. are also possible.

The idea to have this directly in Scatter as "Avoid objects" is nice though. You can put it to Aha, if you want: https://chaoscorona.ideas.aha.io/ideas

Hi, Aram,

I know about the CoronaDistance workflow but it's rarely an option for me. For example, today I had to use Scatter by spline and that option doesn't have any kind of masking by map. Switching to scattering by surface with a spline constraint didn't work for me either since I needed the array-like options of scatter by spline.

Will also post into the Aha page, thanks
