I read somewhere that Corona Render might use AI to create materials — is that true?

@maru, it says AI Material Generator launches today, and it will become immediately available in Corona too. This sounds like we will also get it in the next days? Can't wait to test it :)

Sorry, it looks like I spoke too soon, there might be some delay. So please just stay tuned for further announcements from Chaos. :)

Beta testing probably revealed that AI tendency to sneak female faces in to brick walls is not as easy to fix as devs hoped to :]

Hahaha :) Reason for the delay is that we do need to send a single flag to Cosmos on opening it to say "We support AI Material Generation", which I did not know would be necessary. So that tiny change will be out in a daily this week if all goes to plan, as part of a hotfix due out next week if all goes to plan (with the hotfix having some actual fixes in it too). So it won't be long to wait. Technically, the AI Material Generation is all part of Cosmos, just accessible from Corona, just like the AI Enhancer (that is, we don't develop any of the code for the AI stuff, we just build what's needed to connect to those features on Cosmos - in effect they are "free" functionality in terms of dev time!)

I have installed the Corona 14 Daily Build. Where can I find the new AI Material feature in the Cosmos Browser?

You can follow the instructions on https://docs.chaos.com/display/VMAX/AI+Material+Generator - because this is all on the Cosmos side, instructions are the same across V-Ray, Corona, Max, C4D, etc. :)

Basically, open Cosmos, choose Materials, bottom right you'll see the Generate button.
