Hello,

At the moment, the only way to get a Cryptomatte pass out of Corona is to save the render as *.CXR* and then manually rename it to *.EXR*. That workflow is quite cumbersome—especially for animations—because CXR files are enormous.

Are there any plans to let us write Cryptomatte directly to EXR, without the extra renaming and manual steps? A solution similar to V-Ray’s would be ideal. Although Corona is geared mainly toward arch-viz,  but that shouldn’t mean this feature has to remain only half-implemented, this feature would be invaluable for both still and animated work, especially since our post-production pipeline relies heavily on Nuke and DaVinci Resolve.

Thanks for considering this!

This was reported multiple times through various channels. We have it logged as (Report ID=CMAX-1692). Unfortunately, at this moment I can't share any updates or plans regarding this.
