Is it not possible to use the mapping randomizer node with a Corona pattern?

In other words I have a material that has a mapping randomizer on the diffuse color. Regardless of which "Randomize by" option I select, i.e. mesh element etc I can't get the individual pattern elements to be randomized. I tried with the material on the base object as well as placing the material on the pattern object and changing the "Material from" parameter to "Pattern Object" on the the Corona Pattern object. Phew, hope that made sense.

Unfortunately that is not possible - mapping randomizer does not work with Corona pattern. I might be wrong, but i think the team has said there's technical reasons for that. scratch that, i was pointed by the forum member and Corona expert Frood, that mapping randomizer does work with Corona pattern in mesh element and polygon modes. At least in 3ds Max. Sorry for the misinformation.

Yup, both the Multimap and Mapping Randomizer are working fine in "mesh element" mode. I double checked in Max and C4D. :)

Did you assign the material to the right object? If so, can you share the scene here or over at https://support.chaos.com/hc/en-us/requests/new ?
