Hello friends.

I need help with colors during rendering. First, I need to give some information. I am literally color blind. Since I have a hard time making color adjustments, I use a method. I find pre-made color palettes on the internet. There are HEX codes on these palettes. I prepare my projects with these HEX codes.
There are two methods I know to render HEX codes realistically. The first is to create 300 DPI tiff bitmaps of HEX codes using Photoshop and connect them to my material as bitmaps. The second is to use Corona COLOR. Write the HEX code directly to Corona COLOR.
Of course, ambient light or materials are factors that will affect the color. However, sometimes the colors are so out of line that even I notice them. I am sharing a scene and renders with 3 alternatives. In this scene, I used a material prepared for the composites I used outdoors.
The first render was prepared using corona COLOR. Another one was prepared with a bitmap consisting of tiff. Another one was prepared without interfering with the raw corona physical material. While sharing with you, I added the real colors produced with HEX code in Photoshop to the renders. My scene is a very simple scene. As you can see, the renders and real colors are quite different. My request from you is to learn which methods you use to avoid such events.

1. Which methods should be used for realistic colors?

2. What kind of scene should be used for color calibration. I do not need professional color definition or printing. Getting colors as close as possible will make my job easier.

3. Regardless of the subject, I also sent you a screenshot of my material editor. Dark tones look very black in the editor. Vivid colors come out a little better. What is the reason for this?

4. The two colors processed with HEX code and Bitmap are very different. These look very different even when seen in the editor. I also sent a screenshot of this. Is it normal?
5. I would be glad if you could share your tips when working with colors.

Finally, if this topic has been discussed before in the forum, I apologize for the new topic. Thank you.

Hi,

Sorry for lack and delay of response.

I would say the best way is to use the HEX code directly in CoronaColor, this should give as unmodified version of it as possible.
There can be many layers to this issue, there can be conversions in and out of Photoshop, plus the color management of 3ds Max.
I will have a look at your scene.

Everything looks fine, there was OCIO gamma related fix which we did in Corona 12 Update 2. The checkbox was introduced to keep the scenes rendering as they were created, before Corona 12 Update 2.

For newly created CoronaBitmaps this is done automatically (no such checkbox). The tooltip is self explanatory.
Hope this helps.
