have the latest version of 3ds Max 2025 and the most up-to-date version of Corona Renderer installed. All the software on my device is fully updated, and the plugins I use, such as Project Manager, are also licensed and up to date.

I provide architectural modeling, rendering, and visualization services to several external firms.

One of my clients requested that I save a project in 3ds Max 2022 format. Whether I use Save As or Export, the person receiving the file cannot open it and encounters an error. When they try to open to .max file The error message references an issue with coronamax-release2023.dll.

Maybe it is about the new lightmix features that I'm using on my latest corona software is not compatible on corona 11

Has anyone experienced a similar issue? Is there a way to resolve this?

This is more forwards compatibility :) Backwards compatibility, loading a scene from an earlier version of Corona into a newer one, is something we try to guarantee, even making sure it renders the same (this is when "Legacy" checkboxes appear). But naturally "forwards compatibility", loading a scene from a newer version of Corona into an older one, can never be guaranteed (as we'd need a time machine, so that the older version of Corona had the code from the newer one ;) ).

Recent things in Corona that are known to cause crashes are the new tone mapping options like Auto White Balance and Auto Exposure, and there are parameters for these in the Corona Camera. So you could try deleting all cameras. There could be other things too. With cameras deleted, they could try Merging the scene rather than opening it, this ought to skip any Corona settings where there might be new parameters Corona stores and uses.

The only guaranteed way would be if your client updated to the latest version of Corona as well (they should be able to use Multi Loaders to have both old and new versions of Corona installed, if for some reason they really really want to still be using 11 - https://docs.chaos.com/display/CRMAX/Multiloaders)
