Hi,
Since a fews days, I dove into the exchange with Vantage, and I have some questions regarding compatibility.
If I am not mistaken, it seems there is
1) no support for other mappings but UVW? so not for Flat/Cubic, etc...? That is very painful IMHO ;-)
especially when materials are applied to a null and objects inside of it.
2) no support for PNG Alpha layers in Opacity Channel? It should work I guess, I have the option selected in the preferences...
3) no support for C4D Variation Shader
5) no support for Shadow Catcher?
6) no support for inverting Black and white value in a c4d texture slot (See Attachment Black-White-inverse) It does work when in a corona color correction shader and inverting there, but my library has a lot of these... :-/
7) different background images for each camera?
8) no support for volume channel in glass materials and (pool) water / liquid materials ?
9) I'm struggling with instances for lighting and getting artificial light in my scene. e.g. all spots should be plain geometry and the light source can be a render instance? This is somewhat different from coronaC4D where the spot should be a normal instance. I made a test file with all possibilities to see which combination works. It seems it is only going to work without instancing the lighting fixtures, and using plain geometry for the spot with a render instance light?
In the test file I am also attaching, try changing the name of the corona light whiole in Live LInk. Even though there is nothing directly instanced to it, lights go off...
10) no support for textures linked to asset browser, requires absolute paths?
11) This is more of a question than an issue; If you have an updated C4D file and want to recover all of the prior made animation and additions, the way to go is to export it again to a new vrscene and then load the prior made Vantage file 'as Config only' ?
