Hi all,

I've run into a bit of an issue with the behavior of Forest Pack in conjunction with Corona 12.1. Previously when I wanted to have an ID of objects, scattered with forest, I'd set the IDs on my scatter objects and when I render I have separate IDs for each object - for example one bush has an ID of 1 and becomes red when I use CMasking in RGB mode, another has an ID of 2 an becomes green, etc.

I usually haven't had a need to set an ID on the forest object, this was more than enough for me and allowed me to have precise control if I want to have separate IDs or just set the ID of all scattered objects to be the same so this way I would get an ID for the whole forest.

It seems that in this version of Corona this is no longer the case, because right now if I have separate IDs on different objects being scattered, I get a black mask. I have to set an ID on the forest object and this gives me a mask but for the whole forest with all its objects. I'd really like a way to have more granular control and have a separate mask for each object as previously. Am I doing something wrong or am I missing something or has really something changed underneath and deep inside the way Corona works which would explain this?

I'm using FP 8.2.2. and had no issue with Corona 12 as far as I remember.

It seems to be working fine here. Corona 12 Update 1 Hotfix 1, Forest 9.1.8.

Just replicated the setup, attached are my results with an object ID of 0 for the forest item and another with an ID of 1. I also did reset settings in the render setup beforehand, just in case.

This is Max 2021 + FP 8.2.2 + Corona 12 HF1.

Please try with the newest versions of Corona and Forest. There were some Forest Pack compatibility fixes in Corona Update 1 Hotfix 1.

This is rather unfortunate and sounds more like breaking changes since it was working fine in Corona 12 before the hotfix... alas, now I'll have to invest in a license upgrade for FP. Oh well, this is part of the development process I guess. Thank you for the solution.
