Hello guys,
When rendering animations with glass, one challenge I often face is avoiding the horizon line of the HDRI showing up in the glass reflections, especially when I plan to replace the background with a backplate in post-production. I save the shots in png with alpha channel.
Sometimes, I render the animation twice (once with glass and once without) and then mix the results in post. While this works, it’s a bit of a hassle. Other times, I place a box behind the glass to block the HDRI reflections, but I’m not a big fan of this method either because it gives me less control over the color and overall look of the backplate.
What techniques or workflows do you use to tackle this issue?
I’d love to hear your tips.
Thank you!
