Crash of 3ds Max - Corona 12 Update 1 vs other versions of Corona

If I have a scene saved in 3ds Max with Corona 12 Update 1, I cannot open it in 3ds Max with a different version of Corona (we tested with Corona 12 Hotfix 1 and Corona 11 Hotfix 2). This doesn't happen only on my computer but on most of our students' computers as well.

This is known issue with  Corona 12 U1, but... compatibility with older versions is never guaranteed, so technically it's not a bug and you should not expect that this will be addressed at any time. As it was said many times before - always make backup copies when switching your project between different software versions.

It may be useful to know, we have found the source of the problem, it is related to Corona Camera. After removing Corona Camera it is possible to merge the file into 3ds Max with the older Corona
