A few days ago, I purchased a Ryzen 9 9950X and an ASUS Prime X870-P WiFi board, without any overclocking. I’m working in 3ds Max with Corona Renderer, and whenever I start Corona Renderer, whether it’s interactive or normal rendering, the processor instantly hits 100% usage. 3ds Max then freezes, and I can’t do anything with it; the only option is to quit 3ds Max from the Task Manager. Has anyone else experienced something like this? Any ideas on how to resolve it?

There was discussion about similar issue on the forum recently and it looks that the author successfully solved it. You may want to take a look: https://forum.corona-renderer.com/index.php?topic=43755.0

I saw this thread and yes I tried everything and nothing works, corona render takes 100% of the cpu and I can't do anything except restart the computer

the first attachment is what the scene looks like and I click interactiv render, the second attachment is what it looks like, after 40 seconds I can't do anything in 3dsmax it's non-clickable. the third attachment is what the CPU usage looks like, I turned on the collation to 80% of the CPU to be able to do something

is this only happening with Corona or you get same result with any other renderer also? Have you tried running some stress testing software's or benchmarks on your machine to check its stability under heavy usage?

yesterday I took the computer back to the place I bought it from, they replaced the processor with a new one and also tested it for hardware problems, processor, memory and motherboard. The computer runs corona benchamrk and cinebench with no problems. Also no problem with arnord render and vray. But I work primarily on corona render. And here nothing just works. I have a 1200 watt power supply and a 3090 gpu.

Hi,

Any news on this? I am having the same issues both with Corona and Vray on a new system running a 9950x and a 4080.

Thanks
