That's the intention, since it can be written to from C4D itself, should work with rendering animations, batch rendering, etc. OFC with a daily, we welcome your testing to ensure it does everything expected, and does so without bugs or problems! Do give us your feedback if you can try it out, over in the daily builds feedback thread. Thanks!

When rendering out all takes with the Render Manager the files do save as cxr. but are only exr in the end. Reopening them in the Corona App is possible without the additional cxr. Information. ?

Not sure what you mean about them being only EXR? When you drag and drop them into the Corona VFB, do they show the tone mapping, render elements, LightMixes etc?

When you open these cxr. files in Corona Image editor you will see that LightMix is not available for instance.
the Error an Massages Tab says:
'Saving image in CXR format can only be done for current render, the image will be stored in simple OpenEXR image format.'

Loading the cxr. in the VFB History does also not work.

CXR has changed lately, e.g. the ability to have multiple LightMixes, and new things in the tone mapping stack. The CIE has not updated, so it doesn't recognize those new changes (no matter how the CXR is saved). Instead what can be done is opening it in the VFB without any need to "resume render", so that the CXRs can be edited there. Do they open as CXRs in the VFB, with Lightmixes and tone mapping intact? That's the only way to be sure they are saving properly as CXRs these days. Interesting about the loading into history, I'd expect that to work, once we'll have to have the devs take a look at.

PS - does it work if you save it direct from the VFB, "the old way", just so we can narrow this down to the new save from C4D stuff?

It is all about batch rendering.
A single render saves ok automatically when cxr. is defined in
the c4d save-settings.

But if you have Takes and go
Via Render Manager ( save all takes) the files save as
Cxr. as they are ready but the error message kicks in that they
Are only Open-Exrs. What they are.
