Hi
I have been struggling a lot, but I mean a lot with Corona 12, its crashing every single time, with everything, moving objects, editing objects, editing materials, using Undo, open images in VFB, and a long list of etc. Every crash comes from CoronaMax_Relase-2024 or 2025.Dll. All files have been cleaned using multiple tools and always crash. This was not happening with Corona 11, Corona13 dailys have been beheaving similar to 11, but 12 its a nightmare.

I have reported this and the only recommended thing is trying reseting the ENU, this has helped me, but I have no access to any Script installed there, since I use alot this is very frustrating, so I wanted to know which kind of scripts avoid or which ones pay attention to.

To be honest, it probably wasn't a particular script causing the problem, just sometimes the ENU gets in a mess due to Max itself and it needs resetting. That can happen even with no scripts (have had it happen to me). So most likely it is safe to set up all the scripts you used to use - though let's see what others say before you go and do that, just to get some more feedback on the topic! I do know the ENU can just get messed up "because", but perhaps someone has had experience where it was caused by a particular script.

Hi Tom
Thanks for answering, Corona12 has alot of bugs, I have sent a couple of files to support and the only recommendation that was given was "delete all plugins and scripts" I mean really? Also resetting the ENU every single time its not practical, I know that sometimes it gets corrupted and this solves mostly all of the issues, but c'mon its really frustrating, and this is happening very often and only when I install all the scripts, I cannot even save my configuration, every time Max crashes and delete my customized files.

For what I have tested, Corona 13 Daily its more stable, also Corona 11, but I cannot use them for work.

Once you have a stable environment backup your ENU, so if something does break in future you can revert your ENU without having to reinstall all your scripts/toolbars etc.

Every time you experience a bug, be it a crash or something else, please contact us at https://support.chaos.com/hc/en-us/requests/new and provide all the necessary information. Most importantly, the problematic scene and at least one minidump file generated from the crash. For full instructions, please see https://support.chaos.com/hc/en-us/articles/4649117083409-How-to-report-issues-3ds-Max

Could you please share the number of your ticket(s) where you were advised to delete all plugins and scripts? I could only find one old ticket under your forum email address.

What exactly do you mean by installing scripts? What specific scripts are they? If the crashes start appearing once you install some specific scripts, this is probably some problem with those scripts, not 3ds Max or Corona.

I did the last time with a personal project, right now these projects are from work and I cannot share anything

I think the Ticket number is: 270248, Im attaching the response from 3d Support specialist

If resetting ENU helps in your case, then it means that it was corrupted and most likely it doesn't have anything to do with Corona.

Well everytime that 3ds Max crash the report says that it was from CoronaMax_Release-2025.dll, Im attaching an example

Thats the original issue, everytime that I clean ENU folder and start installing scripts that are dragged to max, everything start to crash, which one, I dont know, mostly these scripts are tools for Quads or simple scripts. Again, every crash its reported as module name: CoronaMax_Release-2025.dll, or this crash module doesnt necessary mean that its Coronas fault?, when I use Vray I dont have any issue at all.

I know its practically impossible to know, thats why I wanted to ask If anyone knew which kind of scripts are problematic for Corona, I have used different PCs and always the same issue, also because my coworkers doesnt use any of them and they havent had any issues. Theres something in my CUI thats messing a big time with Corona12.

Sorry I dont know really how to use quotes, I think I messed up the response :(

Thanks for all the information. Just a note, the support ticket was submitted in July. If you are still getting crashes, please contact us again (https://support.chaos.com/hc/en-us/requests/new) and attach at least one new minidump. Our developers should be able to find out what exactly is causing the crash.

I experience frequent crashes, mostly due to the CoronaUtil or something of the sort. Sometimes, I have to reset the render settings and manually reconfigure everything to get it working again, but it's definitely an ongoing struggle.

As usual, please contact us with a minidump and, if possible, a scene where it happens. https://support.chaos.com/hc/en-us/articles/4649117083409-How-to-report-issues-3ds-Max

Thanks, but sometimes I cant. I got 2 crashes today and it gets completely stuck, the only way to get out is CTRL ALT DEL. This happens when IR.
Actually almost every time It crashes on the first try of IR, then I close it and try again and sometimes it works. IR usually will cause me crash and I have a beefy machine, 256 RAM, RTX 4090.

If 3ds Max is frozen like that, but you are able to bring up the Task Manager, then you should also be able to capture a minidump using Process Explorer as instructed here (see point 2) - https://support.chaos.com/hc/en-us/articles/4649117083409-How-to-report-issues-3ds-Max
