Hey All,

Looking for some recommendations on AIO for a I9 14900K. I have air cooling right now.

My I9 gets around 1860 on Cinebench 2024 multicore and 11.5k rays on Corona benchmark. Both results are below others so presuming my cooling would need some work.

I have an i9 13900K with an AIO and it scores 1850 on Cinebench 2024. I only have the XMP boosted too. I reseated the cooler block on the CPU twice with new thermal paste and it made no difference, so either the online Cinebench results are inflated for one reason or another, or my cooler isn't working well. It thermal throttles almost immediately on the multiscore test, but never reaches more than 70 degrees on singlescore. I gave up trying to find an improvement after several nights of working through different BIOs setups and motherboard software settings and resigned to being 20% slower than I had hoped.

The latest bios update with the 0x12B microcode helps somewhat but they're still trying to push a ton of amps through the CPU to get those last few percentage points on benchmarks. On a 13900k with Thermal Velocity Boost off Cinebench 24 scores are around 2180-2200 with a 360mm AIO and a contact frame in place of the standard retention mechanism.  Settings are adjusted to get 5.3-5.4GHz with PL1/PL2 253W on a 65mv undervolt, ICCmax 350A. Temps are 65-67c over ambient so around 90c package temp. Trying for that last 5% of performance takes an insane amount of power and isn't worth it if you're worried about temps closer to 100c.
Running an Enermax Liqmaxflo 360 here but the Arctic Liquid Freezer III 360 seems to benchmark better and has independent connections for the pump, VRM and radiator fans. The Enermax VRM fan is on the pumpshaft and it is a bit annoying at full rpm. The Arctic is 90USD and comes with a contact frame. It gets good reviews but check to make sure there aren't conflicts with your motherboard components and case fitment since the radiator is 38mm thick vs the 27mm on most other AIOs (add in another 25mm for fans).

Thanks for the suggestions.

Initially when I tested it I was getting 1500 in Cinebench. It's hard to know with the published benchmark results which are stable and which have been pushed to the max just to get the best score. I figured 1500 had to be to low but wasn't sure whether 1800+ in CB is more the norm or not.
