It looks like VRayProxy objects will render in Corona - I'm wondering if this is this going to bite me in the a$$ later?

My current options for vegetation is either to start from scratch; export max fbx, then corona proxy one at a time(can't believe we still can't do multiple like in max), build mats for each species, done. The alternative is just use VRayProxy assets. Anyone else use VRayProxy in Corona?

PS. This could be useful for animated assets since VRayProxy can take animated .abc

Hi, V-Ray Proxy is not officially supported, so we can't guarantee that it will be working fine.

Hello @wolfgang,
As @maru already mentioned, this is not officially supported yet.
The dev team is working to improve this, but it requires time.
Thank you for your understanding.
Have an amazing day/evening.

I'm coming from VRay for Cinema, and while that implantation was not nearly as complete as the one in Max, it is quite workable. I also assumed that there would be some interoperability between VRay and Corona but it seems like that assumptions was wrong. It looks like Max users have created some scrips(as always) to fill in the gaps for VRay to Corona or the other way around. The lack of even a material converter(the scene converter isn't suitable much of the time) is quite painful - big red "unsupported" everywhere, just as a reminder. It seems like Corona and VRay are much more segregated than I thought despite being part of the same company. Of course now I feel like my VRay assets are useless in Corona so I need to start re-thinking whether this will work.

Regardless, I guess I will continue to use VRayProxy in Corona until it proves unreliable.
