Thank Corona team for adding Export to Vantage in Corona 12, but after trying it for a while, it doesn't seem to work on many scenes.

For most scenes in my library, it show error "Failed to export the scene".

This is the download link for some sample scenes with this error (pls download soon before the link expire):
https://filetransfer.io/data-package/UTmBafRf#link

Hope you guys can fix it soon in the next release!
Please keep me updated on this.

Hey,

I tested the scene attached but it seems to be working fine.

Can you let me know the steps you took before this error appeared? Which button did you use for exporting? "Export Scene"|"Export+Render"|"Render in Vantage"

The biggest reason I've seen for failed exports is not enough memory on the graphics card - how much memory does your card have?

Ah, it seem like this problem only happen with "Render in Vantage" button. The others two buttons works fine. (Tested with Max 23 & 24, Corona 12.1)

(I monitored ram & vram and these are both free, nowhere near full so it's not the cause.)

Interesting. For me "Render in Vantage" button is working fine for your scene. Is it possible for you to attach a screen recording to see If I am not missing anything?

I think I know why, it's because of non-english character in folder name (I store my files in shared UNC path with non-english characters folder name)

For example you can change parent folder to something like ひらがな, then this error will occur.

Other button also have the same error, previously when using "Export scene...", I save to another path with all english chars so it works fine. Now if I save to non-english path, I can reproduce this error easily.
So I think it's not scene related or button related, just problem with save to non-english path.

+1 for better error reporting. I'm having the same "Failed to export the scene" when attempting to export to .vrscene, .vantage, or via the "Render in Vantage" button. The Corona log file does not mention any errors, just the following:

Code: [Select]
2024-11-06 10:45:39  Parsing scene took 17.3780003 seconds
2024-11-06 10:45:39  Parsing scene
2024-11-06 10:45:39  ====RENDER STARTED====
2024-11-06 10:45:39  Core build timestamp: Aug  2 2024 08:58:23

Corona 12 hf1, Max 2025.1.

Any ideas on how to troubleshoot?
