Hello,
I have noticed that Chaos Cosmos works differently in 3ds Max 2024 and 2025.

For example Wood 11 100cm, the two images I have attached show difference

1. 3ds Max 2024 - Chaos Cosmos, Corona 12.1
2. 3ds Max 2025 - Chaos Cosmos, Corona 12.1

Due to this difference its impossible to use Corona Converter on that material and all you get is

SYSTEM: Production renderer is changed to Corona 12 (Hotfix 1). Previous messages are cleared.
Could not read/write file type: C:\Users\mwojc\Documents\Chaos Cosmos\Packages\Materials\Wood\Wood_11_100cm_b941857a\b941857a_Diff_4k_srgb.tx
Could not read/write file type: C:\Users\mwojc\Documents\Chaos Cosmos\Packages\Materials\Wood\Wood_11_100cm_b941857a\b941857a_Refl_4k_srgb.tx

Same problem does not happen in previous versions,

Hey, I can't repro this on my end.


Can you make sure that you are the updated version of Cosmos?

click on the three dots in cosmos then go to "about" then see which version you have.

Also from the screenshots you have posted, it seems like you have launched one cosmos from Corona toolbar and second cosmos browser from V-Ray toolbar as the material shows vray nodes not corona.

Hello, thank you for your reply. The problem might require further investigation as I am reporting this after someone brought it to my attention.
Furthermore, that person is in Mexico, I am in Poland, and we both use 3ds Max 2024 and 2025 with all updates applied.

We both experience this issue in 2025

Thanks for further info but I still can not repro this on my end. Changing location should not effect this.

It would be best if you and your friend can start a ticket with us so we can investigate it further.

@Tanakov - I was not able to reproduce what you are reporting, but the result from your "screenshot 2" is what the material looks like when imported with the V-Ray version of Cosmos. Make sure that you are launching the correct version of Cosmos (from the Corona toolbar) and that you have Corona set as your active renderer.

I am sorry, but I do not understand what is happening in your video. It looks like you are clicking various icons (Cosmos, Render Setup), but nothing is happening, the windows are not displaying. Is this the problem you wanted to show?

If yes, then please submit a new support ticket at https://support.chaos.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
This is because cases where Cosmos is not working at all are handled by the dedicated Cosmos support team.

Oh my god I tried to save some time and I used the stupid Alt+Windows+R record function but it only records one window. My apologies. I will upload the proper screen record soon
