Hello!
I encountered the following problem:
After applying a chamfer to a model, a strange shadow appears that I can't get rid of.
I did a bunch of tests, but nothing helped. I tried creating a new scene, a different material, different geometry, different lighting (HDRi or sun + sky), changed the chamfer settings, number of segments, smoothing groups, weighted normals mod., terminator handling in Corona settings, but nothing helped.
I'm not sure what exactly is the source of the problem, but I hope I can find the answer here.

where is the weird shadow?

Looks completely normal, and as expected, to me...

Perhaps try turn on/off smoothing in the chamfer settings to see if you get a more desirable outcome?

Chamfer-.jpg - model without chamfer with normal shadows.
Chamfer+.jpg - chamfer is on, shadows appear on the ribs.

I tried all the smoothing options in the chamfer settings

Again, in my opinion this is not a problem.

You apply chamfers to 'soften' up the edges, right? Well, these are definitely getting softened.

The darkness is a result of the lighting in your scene, maybe add some more strategic lights to make these dark edges lighter?

I second aaouviz opinion - looks like completely normal and expected shading to me. You can see the same darkening effect on the cube.
I'm not Corona Team member. Everything i say, is my personal opinion only.
